Spirit for the bottle

Upon an initiative launched by the Rézangyal palinka team in cooperation with Spiritusz Galéria known as the subsidiary of Várfok Galéria specialised in discovering young talent, a collection of palinka bottles filled with artistic concept and re-interpretations will soon appear.

„We have invited the artists of the galery to an unusual competition aimed at establishing and introducing the Rézangyal Art Collection. This means that artists are expected to create unique and original pieces of art inspired by our palinkas.” – said Kata Maros, head of  Rézangyal product development.

The topic and atmosphere of the Pure Alcohol exhibition held in Spiritusz galéria and closing in February, had served as  pleasant inspiration for sampling palinkas, selecting flavours and taking a closer look at the bottles as well.

„By means of this competition, Spiritusz Galéria intended to find new ways for contemporary artists to reach the public which is thirsty” for current visual culture and also for cooperation with creative representatives and professionals of the business comunity” – pointed out Bianca Iványi, director of Spiritusz Galéria.

The end result of this frutful cooperation is form suited to content:  limited edition contemporary works of art inspired by palinka and signed individually by the artists. Ten young artists from Spiritusz, painters, sculptors, photographers have taken this opportunity for artistic self expression: Alma Abonyi, Péter Appelshoffer, Zhenia Bozukova, Judit Katalin Elek, Réka Harsányi, Réka Jahoda, Eszter Korcsmár, Léna Kútvölgyi, Orsi Szemethy, Katalin Tesch are just beginning their careers but have practically all won prizes, appeared at exhibitions and participated in collectionsa already.

Palnkas of the Rézangyal Art Collection will only be available in units of Rézangyal Pálinkaház and the  Bistro chain from May 2010.
